The Scott Pilgrimage

Posted by SuperSpark - July 24th, 2010

Hey everyone (if anyone reads this), I made a Scott Pilgimage, as people have been calling them, to the Beguiling on Monday for the Scott Pilgrim Release Party for Volume 6.

There were so many people there at least over a thousand on that crowded street and there were people cosplaying as Scott Pilgrim characters. My friends that I was going with all ditched me on last Saturday so I knew I was going by myself which wasn't that fun. I stayed in line for hours to get the book and an autograph until my aunt came by after her nursing job to keep me company. I met this guy there beside me in line who was pretty cool. I remember his name (I think) but I don't know how to spell it, which sucks. It was almost 2 AM by the time we got my book and the book I bought for my friend on vacation signed by Bryan Lee O'Malley the author of Scott Pilgrim.

What was totally awesome was that, after he signed my book, I gave him a print out of that last comic I did (The 4th Spark Comic called "You want me to do what?!") And he recognized it from the internet which was amazing!!! I guess he found it on my Deviant Art when I put it in that Scott Pilgrim group. That made my night!

I read Scott Pilgrim's Finest Hour Volume 6 while I was in line. A truly epic concluding chapter in a truly epic series! The ending was very fitting but personally I didn't like it since it just wasn't that concrete of an ending for me. Oh well it ended nicely nonetheless and all the characters were given proper goodbyes.

Later next week, I'm going on vacation. I'll try to do some animating when I'm gone and maybe start one of the two new full-length Shad projects I've wanted to do once I've finished my next test animation.
